Pricing Overview
At Studio 47 The Barn, voice-over pricing is based on industry-standard guidelines and reflects the value, usage, and professionalism behind every recording—not just the time spent behind the microphone. To keep things transparent, here’s how pricing works.
What Determines Voice-Over Pricing?1. Usage & DistributionThe single biggest factor in voice-over pricing is how and where the audio will be used. For example: • A corporate training video used internally has very different value than • A radio commercial broadcast to thousands of listeners, or • An audiobook sold commercially worldwideBroadcast, paid advertising, and national campaigns typically require higher fees than internal or limited-use projects.
2. Length of the ProjectPricing considers: • Script word count • Finished runtime • Overall project scopeShort scripts may still carry minimum session fees, while long-form projects (such as audiobooks or eLearning) are priced per finished hour or per project.
3. Licensing & TermSome projects include: • Limited usage terms (e.g., 6–12 months) • Perpetual usage • Exclusivity (preventing similar work during a campaign period)Extended usage or exclusivity may affect pricing.
4. Production QualityAll recordings from Studio 47 The Barn include: • Broadcast-quality audio • Professional editing and cleanup • Consistent levels and clarity • Delivery in industry-standard formatsThis ensures audio is ready for immediate use—no additional production required.
What’s Included in Most Projects✔ Professional recording in a dedicated studio✔ Clean, edited audio files✔ One round of minor performance revisions✔ Prompt, reliable communication
Revisions & Pickups • Minor performance adjustments are included • Script changes or additional pickups may incur an additional fee • Rush or same-day requests are subject to availability and may include a surcharge
Why I Don’t Charge “Per Minute”Voice-over is not simply a time-based service. Pricing reflects: • Experience and vocal skill • Studio investment and audio engineering • Usage rights and audience reach • Professional reliability and consistencyThis ensures fair, industry-aligned pricing for both clients and talent.
Industry StandardsRates are aligned with current GVAA (Global Voice Acting Academy) guidelines, which are widely used by voice professionals and agencies as a pricing benchmark.
Getting an Accurate QuoteTo provide the most accurate quote, please include: • Script or estimated word count • Intended usage (internal, web, broadcast, audiobook, etc.) • Distribution area (local, regional, national, global) • Usage duration (if applicable) • Desired turnaround timeCustom quotes are always welcome, and I’m happy to work within reasonable budgets while maintaining professional standards.
Questions? If you’re unsure what category your project fits into, just ask. I’m always happy to help guide you through the process and make pricing clear and stress-free.

Pricing FAQ
How much does a voice-over cost?
Pricing varies depending on script length, usage, and distribution. Most projects fall within established industry rate ranges based on GVAA guidelines. Custom quotes are always provided.
Why does usage matter?
A voice used in paid advertising or broadcast reaches a much larger audience than internal or limited-use projects, which affects licensing and overall value.
Do you offer flat rates?
Yes. Many projects are quoted as a flat project rate based on scope and usage, rather than by the hour or minute.
Are revisions included?
One round of minor performance revisions is included. Script changes or additional pickups may incur an additional fee.
Do you offer rush delivery?
Rush or same-day turnaround may be available depending on scheduling and typically includes a surcharge.
How do audiobooks work?
Audiobooks are priced per finished hour (PFH) or through royalty-share arrangements. Pricing depends on manuscript length, complexity, and delivery timeline.
What do I need to provide for a quote?
A script (or word count), intended usage, distribution area, and desired turnaround time.
